How to Maintain Your Integrity While Expanding Your Network
We all understand that a network is essential for personal and business development, and if you aren't networking now, you should start right away.
“How?” is the question.
The trick is to identify who knows what I don't know... and either gain their expertise or find a method to collaborate with them.”
In other words, it is critical to surround oneself with people who have diverse interests and skill sets that may benefit you and your company.
That is where networking comes in.
Starting from the beginning.
Create a network as quickly as feasible.
Without connections, a network, or a community, there will be no financing and nothing to build on.
This is why it is critical to have a strong networking foundation for yourself and your concept.
When you first start out, don't waste time by thinking that networking is simply about making small chat as you get a short bite to eat.
Instead, go to community events that are related to your profession and meet important individuals you respect.
Find your vertical, focus on it, and go all in.
For example, when I launched my music synchronization company, AmpMe, I didn't have much expertise in the music tech sector, so I began attending local and national events to educate myself and make important connections.
Don't 'Stop Networking,' either.
Simply begin doing it correctly.
Quality is built by mixing business and pleasure.
My strongest relationships are founded on genuine and meaningful encounters, therefore it's important to get to know someone for who they really are and find common ground.
Take the time to learn about their interests, their life objectives, and what it is that really ignites a fire in their eyes.
That is how you will determine whether or not there is a real connection to build on.
What applies to your personal connections also applies to your professional networking contacts.
For example, before meeting an old friend and current investor, I had heard he was an expert at producing investor presentations.
I didn't need it at the moment, but we hit it off and connected through our love of skiing.
He really planned a ski vacation for us to take a break from our equally busy life.
Coincidentally, it was also time for me to put together AmpMe's Series A deck; he assisted me in creating the winning presentation during that ski vacation.
Karma exists.
What has helped me the most is the idea that you must be willing to give before you can receive.
When you initially begin working on a project, you may anticipate an unequal connection.
Even if you have firmly established yourself and your reputation, you should still expect to give much more than you will get.
Give before you ask, and you will ultimately reap the benefits of your efforts.
It's just plain Karma.

The difficult part, after you've established yourself, is nurturing important connections.
While it is almost difficult to keep in touch with all of your contacts, it is critical to make a concerted effort to do so.
Expect your lead production to dry up if you let your relationships wither on the vine.
Be a person.
I make an effort to take a personal interest in my connections.
It's always great to connect with other entrepreneurs since they understand my busy lifestyle of family, friends, AmpMe, investments, and personal leisure.
On the other hand, if the proper foundation is not laid beforehand, befriending business colleagues may become difficult.
When trying to get people on board, try not to be too aggressive and accept the natural flow of things.
My suggestion is to leave the hidden purpose at the door and invite them to something enjoyable, such as a lovely meal out or a fun outdoor activity.
It's important to remember that it's not always about getting points.
Regardless of the circumstance, treat them like individuals and as you would want to be treated.
You'll receive everything you need to succeed if you remember that they're relationships, not transactions.

As you get more comfortable with networking, your confidence will grow, and you will have a better grasp of how you can provide value to a given scenario.
You'll also improve your ability to focus on important events and make better use of your time.
It has a high learning curve at first, but it is definitely worth your effort.
Finally, keep your ego out of any commercial relationships.
It is not about ego when it comes to networking; it is about getting things done.
Be yourself, be true to yourself, and go out there and have fun.
